Well, I know to well about these freaks. My late husband before he died was taken by one that said she was from Russia and he sent her over $500 when we were seperated. You can usually tell when they are scammers. If you read their profiles real slow and their responses to your ads you can tell. They will mess up on words and send pics that are obviously from a magazine or something. I usually block them immediately and then report them. In my ads I clearly state what it is that I am interested in and if they are what I AM NOT LOOKING FOR and still contact me, then that is usually a clue too.

.I also notice the Russian and a South African lady are causing havoc on another website duping unsuspecting men. I am very suspicious of adverts with pictures of beautiful young girls. They are simply there to lure man. Watch out folks!!! They come up with all sorts of stories like I am in West Africa my husband dumped me here and I am trying to leave this place but am short of air fare. They then offer to come where-ever you are. However they would like you to transfer the top up fare via Western Union to where-ever they claim to be!! Once you send the money, their mobiles disappear from the face of the earth!!! You have been warned.

I get new contacts all the time who say they live in the USA and once they get on yahoo as a contact they say they are in London, Ghana, Nigeria, etc... Unfotunately I learned the hard way last year when I first joined sites for people with std's. It took me a while to put a profile with a pic and when I did I was scammed after chatting with the person for 3 months. Pheromons took me to a place that hurt not only my pocket, but my heart. I have people who are in there late 20's and early to mid 30's contacting me and it can go to asking for favors in a single day. Now they ask for items, money, even try to get you to accept gifts to get your info. I've learned my lesson but it will never make me give up giving others a chance and to believe in them. I reported the scammer to the FBI online at www.ic3.gov . This is a common thing that is happening and people are losing thier homes over it. Now if someone ask for money for food, I send them info for soup kitchens and missions in thier area. If they ask for money to join a dating website, I give them info on free sites. And so on. I'm a giving guy and will always help those who are seeking help. Just no money or personal info online. That I will save for that special someone when I meet them in person and we have built a relationship to build on for life.

Dear Friends

I am a member of a few of these sites as most of us are but the worst site for scammers is Positives Dating.
I have spoken to 1 Person out of many that is not a scammer, I'm even starting to think that the people that run the site are the scammers as I have reported the scammers to them but nothing ever gets done.
Its annoying that I paid to be a premium member to such a bad site.
There is one scammer in particular that is on the site with 8 different profiles, they use the same girl with different pictures of her on the profiles and thats not the only one thats doing this on that site.
If you go on this site stay away from.

Marrynee1, BLKBeauty, Rebjones, Olivia_parten, Helenlove123, Sweetluvn,
Nora321, Prettyhelen3024.

All the above Profile names are 1 person she is from Ghana and the story goes she is waiting for her fathers Will to be shared out between he and the rest of the family.
You can Guess how the rest goes.
I have found it easy to spot these people now their english Grammer in the messages they send you is usually bad to very bad and if they have no web cam so that I can have a face to conversation at some point then I don't give them the time of day.

I hope this is of some use to everyone trying to find the right Person for them

Africa is incredibly poor...all the money sums we sent there through the latest 50 years have been stolen and mostly used for wars...many are desperate now, and they would do everything in order to escape that hell.
Behind the scamming poverty and desperation are. If you have an head ache, you can buy an aspirin, but if you are African you don't have an aspirin to buy, neither the money for it ! Same with food, clothes, and so on. People if kept in poverty there so it's quite normal that different kind of scammers rise up in the effort of surviving. We label everything under " SCAMMING ".
Beside that, my best friend tried to convince me to lend him money after he went to accidentally know about my HIV state. He used comfortable and lovely words. That was SCAMMING. Also many would take advance of you, knowing that you are HIV+ ..no need for living in Africa...

`I was just thinking about the fact that there are so many of these sites and some of them actually look like someone was out at a local bar and just took someone picture then created a fake profile.

It is a little discouraging, because you sort of think they must be someone else out there you know just like me, feeling a little or a lot alone.

Wondering if they will ever get a chance to fall in love again to feel that dizzy aching in the pit of your stomach, when you spend time with someone your dating.

I could go on and on I do think that a lot of us tend to sort of isolate ourselves, from the world around us.

That is why I have done a lot of searching in forums, dating sites, and about half the time, I know it has to be someone that is "pretending to be someone else" you know for sure when you see someone that says they do not know the day they were diagnosed that they are not poz at all.

No one forgets that day.

But still I have hope and so I spend time online, thinking hoping that someday I might accidentally find someone just as lonely for friendship or just the caress of a caring hand.

`These scammers come not only from Africa but a range of countries in Europe, Asia, South America and North America. I have even had one from my own country of Australia. They are everywhere and they are a part of a carefully run network of scammers. They have about five of six different spiels that they play on you. There may be more but there are definite similarities. If they start to call you dear they are from Africa. The Russians are normally upfront about being Russian but want money to come to your country. Of course if you part with the money that is the last time you ever hear from them. Then there is the scam of needing to unlock a fortune because he or she can't get to London or Sydney or New York. They give you a number of a person they say is a Vicar and you are supposed to call him to confirm the identity of the person. Then you are asked to give some details so money can be transferred into your bank account but of course instead of money going in it comes out.

These are common scams and there are so many of them out there I have almost given up dating sites. I try to only connect with people from Australia and even then I got someone trying to rip me off. To say I'm peeved don't go anywhere near it!
Tony

Just a quick note about spamming / scamming.

Every member here should read our ONLINE DATING SAFETY page, linked in the HELP area.

Separately, please use the REPORT link on any profile you find suspicious.

Also, DEFINITELY use the REPORT link in every email to report anyone asking for, or hinting that they need, money.

Lastly, do not post member usernames in the forum because you think they are a scammer / spammer. You could be wrong, and it is unfair to other members that they be labeled as something they may not be.

Instead...report them to us, and we will look into any/all reported accounts.

We have a LOT of automatic filters in place to limit spammers and scammers, and considering our network is 100% free, we think our system does a pretty good job of limiting those types of 'bad apples'. Even when someone makes it through our gauntlet of filters, it only takes one member to report someone who is obviously spamming/scamming for us to then delete them. (And we use the information we find to tighten our filters even further...which is why it gets harder and harder for spammers/scammers to target our members.)

But again, no system is foolproof, so please report anyone you think looks suspicious.

Thanks,

.

I get so mad when people do scams and play on peoples hearts to do so. I always ask them to my Facebook so they can see I have a life and so I can see that they have a life as well.. I do know many women for mother country's.. some in here. And they are real and true they would love to come to the US where I live .. Anyway I love it when a beautiful young woman hits me up and starts calling me baby right away.. LMAO Come on!! I am 62 years old.. LOL Pay attention and you will be alright

Yes I have been in passions for a few years now. I have met many wonderful people from all over the world in here. Most times I will invite someone to my Facebook. That is a good way to see if they have friends and a family and that shows a history. Some don't want to have positive others in their Facebook . I did set up a Yahoo group and it has been slow. But is have been good for some that just want a place to talk. But good way to have fun talk and sharing emails just in all making good friends. A safe environment is one that you are in a place with people that get to know each other. Speaking of Africa I have many friends from Africa. And it is true they would love to come to the USA. Could you blame them? And if you fall for a scam I am sorry it is your own fault in my book. Let's face it you have to take chances in life. And your POZ now. Make friends be bold or you can hang here for ever complaining. Bless you all in 2014 and I am not a match maker. But I love to connect with people. On my profile I have and active link to my yahoo group that needs more men in there by the way is open for all s----l orientations and a link to my Facebook. Have a great day.
