`I Tested positive years ago...devastated and scared I told my mother first.
Her response was, concern about herself first, no grandchildren and fear (I believe she would get stuck taking care of me. A week later I was disowned and told to let my friends care for me. Though I tried, our relationship ended more or less. Over the years i've made several attemps, but recently since she is now old and alone hoplefully we have reconneted for good.

` I was very lucky in that department. Just 2 people kinda turned their back one me. Most took the news worse than I did. The people in your life that reject you and/or do you wrong, friends or family, just cut them loose. The ones that care but are just scared will come back to you. As for the ones that don't,they are just just a burden you don't need to carry.Be glad they're gone. You have better things to concern yourself about than trying to win them over. Don't let anyone or anything "get to your T-Cells".

`When I told my mom she nknew nothing about HIV. I was made to use paper plates and plastic ware and cups at her huse for about a year after first telling her. I quickly stopped being hungry over there and took my own bottled water. She is more educated on it now and I get to use the REAL dishes like a Grown up. She would still consider it a disgrace on the family though so my status is very hush hush. I am glad though that she didn't disown me. I'm glad love is unconditional and Ignorance is curable.
