I've got a checkered past, and you may have one too, but we can jointly agree that the past is the past. It may have shaped who we are today, and may provide some colorful stories, but it's the present that makes the future possible. Someone who's direct and distinct, is a singular person with purpose, but open to the benefits of being a couple. Someone who means what they say; their actions match their words. Someone who is honest and charming, kind and speaks the truth. Not looking for the arrogant or pompous, the materialistic or judgemental, or cowards and other such schmucks. In the words of the artist formerly known as Prince, someone who acts their age, not their shoe size.

I try to be easy going, though it doesn't always work. I try to be honest, sometimes to my own detriment. I try to be a good person, but those standards differ from person to person. I laugh at slap stick, I cry at the movies, I smile at babies and I grimace toward ignorance. I’ve spoken before I’ve thought, and I’ve chided and abided. I've hoped and I've despaired while I've loved and I've despised. I've tolerated, and I've learned to not. I'm a happy bitterment, wrapped up in sarcastic joy, muddling through life trying to make sense of yesterday, appreciate today, and wish for the future. In the words of Popeye, basically, I am who I am and that's all that I am.
